Chineasy: Visual Guide to learn Chinese
Originally the brainchild of entrepreneur and author, ShaoLan Hsueh, I worked with ShaoLan on her methodology and developed every aspect of the brand from the name and the identity to illustrations to a complete digital learning platform.
Chineasy is an award winning visual learning guide to help people learning Chinese through simple illustrations. The illustrations serve as building blocks and learners can start building Chinese characters by putting the illustrations together. It started off as a Kickstarter project in July 2013 with a print and digital product range, such as book, postcard and flashcard sets, posters and expanded as the community and demands grew.
My responsibilities include:
– Brand guardian – illustrations, design and maintain brand assets
– Design upcoming print and digital products (Chineasy 2015 merchandise range and Chineasy app)
– Designed the second Chineasy book – Chineasy Everyday
– Managed multiple ongoing projects with external partners
– Content creations from concept to go live, managed various social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & Popjam)
– Grew the Chineasy community organically from the start to 250k+ followers on Facebook
